Cancellation again stiil taking bank funds

I signed up and checked box 1 month only then of course its a hidden subscription.. cancelled by email Aug 17th after the 2nd unauthorized payment.. Unsubscribed they sent an email saying they couldnt locate my account. which is absolutely untrue they sent over 100 emails , and took 3 payments out of my bank..I have made a request of every available contact dept to resolve and return my funds including 6 direct phone tries during their stated business hours only to get a recording that they are unavailable and to try back...Im having my bank reverse their charges and making complaints and reviews everywhere I can find.

It sounds like you may be providing information that is not associated with your account, please provide the customer success agent with any first/last name that can be on the account, any emails, the date/amount of charge and the last four numbers on the card charged. This will help them locate the account in the system. I never had anyone one to talk to and start my working situation. I did everything that was asked of me. I am very qualified. I tried to call and my message was “we are in a meeting”. Then the phone hung up on me various times. It’s a shame.

I subscribed for a one month use of sittercity.com, and was charged for the last 4 months. I have not used my account, but they will not refund my charges for the months I did not authorize or use. This is a horrible company for customer service, and the service's they provide or just as equal. Do not trust this website or company to provide proper childcare and services. Brittany W. Was my customer service representative, and was of absolutely no assistance or understanding of my situation.

NO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! We wish we could select zero stars.

Pay attention to the one-star reviews of Sittercity -- there is a reason for that! Also note that they do not accept Google Pay or Apple Pay -- credit card ONLY. There is a reason for this, as other reviewers have consistently noted. This company practices dishonest billing practices.

We signed up for a 3-month "premium" account because it was the only way we could contact potential pet sitters. Everything about the sign-up for this makes it seem as if you are signing up for a defined period of time (in our case, 3 months). Instead, when you sign up for the premium account, you are unknowingly signing up for an auto-pay subscription service -- with no advance notification that you will be billed (such as the transparent and ethical way in which Amazon and Netflix notify subscribers). The fee is just deducted from your bank account and when you call on that same day to explain that you did not sign up for an additional 3 months (while the charge is still pending), no one answers the phone.

And no one ever will -- the message is "we are either in a meeting or on the phone." We called more than 20 times on that first day and a handful of times the following day. When you send an email, you are assigned a case number, but you will never receive a response. On that same day, I reached out to customer service on the website and got nothing but canned responses (“All of our Premium Membership plans are subscription based and automatically renew unless canceled, as stated on the sign-up page, on your receipt, and in our Terms of Use. Members have the option to cancel at any time through their Account Settings or by calling, chatting, or emailing our Customer Success team.

We understand that life is busy and it can be easy to overlook our auto-renew policy. We routinely review our communications, and your feedback is very helpful as we look to reduce the potential for confusion.” In fact, you'll see this canned response on all of the billing complaints on pissedconsumer.com). Is this true? Yes -- but trust us, there is no place where that information is prominently explained.

Instead, after we checked, we were satisfied that the 3-month period is all we were signing up for. Obviously, Sittercity's business model relies on people not reading the fine print. While they may not legally have to notify you that they are billing you, this is the ethical, transparent way to conduct business.

More disturbing are the reviews that state that even after cancellation, Sittercity continued to deduct payment. This is why I feel compelled to warn others, so that they will be saved from the same grief.

Thanks for the same canned response, and proving my point that Sittercity not only practices unscrupulous billing tactics but has no interest in changing those tactics, has no real customer service and has zero interest in having a reputation as an ethical company.

I signed up for services from sittercity.com. After spending almost $150 on membership fees alone without having any success using their site, I downgraded my membership. I reached out to them when I was billed another $70 just for membership services to notify them of the error since I had already downgraded. They neglected the entire issue but instead stated that their policy mentions that there are no refunds. Not only that, but I am unable to remove my card information. Also, at the end of the response, Stephanie B. Proceeds to tell me that she will be closing my support ticket. So basically they are free to continue to charge my card and contacting them through support is useless. I have been going back and forth with them constantly repeating my issue through the complaint system with the Better Business Bureau. They have actually acknowledged the entire conversation with their support team, but then proceeds to tell me that this is the first time I have contacted them... come on now pick a side. It can’t be both. They continue to insist that they have no record of any prior downgrade... which I have now done TWICE, and also now that they have billed me for another 3 months, they can delete my account but the 3 months that they have billed me for will still not be refunded. What in the world is really going on here. Not to mention whomever I am speaking to from their department seems to not care about the issue at hand and be snobby with their responses. Very unprofessional. Still at this point, I’m out every penny I have been charged and their bright idea for a solution is to delete my account and keep ALL my money even though they have charged me for another 3 months. Someone over there isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. That’s the BEST solution they have come up with. No my dear, that won’t cut it.

You will never get anything that even remotely approaches customer service from Sittercity, @User_79_2017. They will continue to operate using misleading tactics on their website so that customers unknowingly sign up for an auto renewal plan even though it seems as if you're making a one-time payment.

There is never any communication that details this or an email or text that notifies that that they will be making an automatic premium withdrawal from your account, so that you have notice to cancel the plan before that charge hits. Any time I have the chance to screw them the same way they screw their customers, I will.

On 7/15/2019 SitterCity closed my account for absolutely NO reason!!! I paid for a 6 month membership. I was a member in good standing for 2 months. I, Steve, and my wife Skirma opened the account under her name. The picture on the account was a picture of she and I. We do not have any children. I was seeking a local person to pet sit 2 black labs for me on weekends. I contacted a few people who were listed as "baby sitters", in the hopes that they would also be open to pet sitting as well. I pay top dollar, and am honest and fair. "Pet sitting" is a valid, listed job category on SitterCity. Additionally, MANY people seeking employment on SitterCity list themselves as seeking one job, but are open to doing other jobs as well!!! My account was closed with NO reason, NO justification, and NO explanation. When people spend their time to open an account, PAY them for their service, and seek to employ someone in good faith, there is NO justification for them to arbitrarily close the account. Do all that you can to avoid this service. They are HORRIBLE. And when you call to try to get an explanation as to why they closed your account, the representatives become unprofessional, defensive, and openly hostile.

Thanks for reaching out! There could be a number of reasons that this is happening, the most common is that you are applying for a job in which you do not have the correct profile type for.

With your Sittercity account, you can have multiple profiles (i.e., nanny, babysitter, pet care) so that you can apply to jobs amongst the different categories on our site.

In order to add additional profiles, you will need to log in to your Sittercity account on a web browser and click on “Profiles”, then clicking “Add” under the profile you would like to add. For additional support, please contact support@sittercity.com
